Standard Introduction
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is the world's leading environmental disclosure platform, founded in 2000 and headquartered in London, UK. CDP represents over 680 institutional investors managing more than 130 trillion USD in assets and 200 major buyers, collecting and analyzing corporate data on climate change, water security, and deforestation to drive the global transition toward a low-carbon, sustainable economy.

- Climate Change:Greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1/2/3), climate risk and opportunity assessment, reduction targets and progress, carbon pricing, and renewable energy usage
- Water Security:Water usage, water risk assessment, water pollution prevention and control, watershed management, and water-related financial impacts
- Forest:Supply chains for commodities such as timber, palm oil, soybeans, and beef; deforestation risk assessments; zero-deforestation commitments and progress; proportion of certified procurement
- Governance & StrategyBoard-level environmental oversight, ESG integration, scenario analysis, and TCFD alignment
Disclosure Process
- Enterprises receive CDP disclosure requests from investors or customers, or proactively participate
- Complete the standardized questionnaire in the CDP Online Response System (ORS).
- Submit supporting data and file evidence
- CDP scores responses using a public methodology (grades A to D-).
- Rating results are published on the CDP website and data platform.
- Grade A company selected for CDP "A List," recognized as an industry benchmark.
Fee Details
CDP is free for companies responding to disclosure requests. Voluntary participants pay an annual management fee ranging from RMB 10,000 to 50,000, based on company size and the number of disclosure modules. CDP also offers paid data analytics and consulting services.
Accredited Institutions
CDP scores are independently determined by CDP's internal scoring team and partners using a public methodology. Companies may engage third-party consultants to assist with data collection and questionnaire completion, but this does not affect the independence of the scoring process.
Certificate validity period
CDP scores are published annually and remain valid for one disclosure cycle (12 months). Companies should update their disclosures annually to maintain score validity and comparability.
