The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is the global authority on social responsibility in the jewelry industry, established in 2005. The RJC has developed the Code of Practices and the Chain of Custody standard, covering the entire diamond and gold jewelry supply chain from mine to retail, ensuring responsible operations in ethics, human rights, and the environment.

- Earn RJC certification and be listed in the official directory of certified enterprises.
- Complete recertification audit every three years
Fee Details
RJC membership dues are tiered based on company revenue, ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of pounds. Third-party audit fees are separate and typically range from 30,000 to 80,000 RMB, depending on operational complexity and the scope of the audit.
Accredited Institutions
RJC-accredited audit firms include SGS, TÜV Rheinland, ERM, KPMG, and other professional organizations with experience in jewelry industry audits.
Certificate validity period
The RJC certification is valid for three years, requiring an annual progress report. Recertification audits are conducted upon expiration.
